🤔 Why carry a mushroom over
Players do this when next month's event decor is one they want more than this month's — for example, moving from September 2026's Sausage decor to October's Stained Glass. Players say a mushroom that finishes next month counts toward next month's Event Challenge, so you can push more stages and get more of next month's Decor Pikmin seedlings.
🐢 How it works
How long a mushroom takes depends on its workload and the total strength sent to it. The less strength, the longer it runs. So the idea is simple: join with the lowest strength you can near the end of the month, and let it finish after the month changes.
📝 Step by step
- Pick a small mushroom. It's the only size you can join with just 1 Pikmin — normal needs 10, large 15 and giant 20.
- Choose one in a quiet, rural spot. Up to 5 players can join, and anyone who adds strength makes it finish sooner.
- Send a weak squad and skip the Nectar, then check the remaining time on the mushroom's details screen.
⚠️ What it costs you
- Joining uses one of your 3 free daily battles, and leaving still counts as a try.
- Rewards are carried back by the Pikmin you sent, so with very few Pikmin some rewards may not be carried. Your star rating will be low too.
- The free-battle limit is explained in our free slot and paid slot explainer.
⚠️ The carry-over strategy is player experience shared in the Korean community, not an official feature. Mushroom minimums and reward rules are from the Pikmin Bloom Help Center as of October 2026.
Use the time to farm regular decor. A pure spot only gives one decor type — the fastest way to get exactly the Decor Pikmin you want.
